Meanwhile, the CSH Long Term Care Center is renovating its inpatient facility to include 14 patient beds, including an additional hospice bed supported by a local nonprofit, Liam’s Room.

If you can’t do that, the only alternative that we have in our system is to pick up the phone and call somebody, to go to the emergency room or go to long-term care. And secondly, nurses are best at doing nursing, and social workers are best at doing social work. They would be so afraid.

A lot of times we, unfortunately, had to eat a lot of the reimbursement because we had to switch them to a routine level of care, even if they were in our inpatient unit, while our social work team worked on placement issues or they worked on caregiver issues. They worked on things like that.
