I once had a patient in the ICU at Moffitt who had had a stroke and was facing, not recovered, going to a nursing home with a feeding tube. Even if you haven’t completed a healthcare proxy, durable training for healthcare, most states say here’s a list of people who can make that decision in order.

Alex: Also returning Rebecca Sudore, who is professor of medicine at the UCSF in the division of geriatrics, and is a geriatric and palliative care doctor. I have done a lot of work on POLST and nursing homes and I’ve seen POLST forms. I was on service and I had a geriatrics fellow and a palliative care fellow.
