To provide context, we are joined by Karen Steinhauser, a social scientist at Duke who has been studying spirituality for years (and published one of the most cited papers in palliative care on factors considered important at the end of life , as well as one of my favorite qualitative papers to give to research trainees ).

Eric and I are working on it…maybe by 2023? . So I was really excited to bring in a couple of co-editors who were young and hip, and at the cutting edge of palliative care now, along with my collaborators: the social workers, the psychiatrist, a chaplain to really make this book relevant for now. That’s the main thing.

Every member of the team, even for me, for whatever reason, that switched me from focusing on trying to be in pulmonary critical care to become actually a geriatrician, choose the geriatric fellowship. And these care navigator, they can be community health worker with just 12 years of education. They can be a- Diane: Social worker.
