Emotional Turbulence: End-of-life discussions are emotionally charged, and both patients and their families may experience a range of emotions like fear, grief, and anxiety. I like to ask the patient and family if it’s ok to speak openly with everyone present. You should also utilize your hospice volunteers when you can.
