I think the two spaces it comes out of, one is informed consent, which is this idea that people need to have an understanding of their disease and treatment. Psilocybin, the most commonly used psychedelic, increases heart rate and blood pressure, which may potentially lead to cardiovascular events. Legalization is moving forward in several states , following the lead of Oregon and Colorado. Potential use in palliative care , chronic pain , and for mood disorders is tantalizing.
