In terms of caregiving support, not much has changed. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) unveiled in July 2023.

I’d like to ask you the same question as it pertains to the family and to the caregiver. And they’re probably not even coming to the post-acute care world, because they’re so clouded by their experience as a caregiver caretaker for a loved one. Not all of our caretakers are formal caregivers.

Since hospice care is usually provided in the home, a loved one may still be involved as the primary caregiver, with guidance and support provided by professional medical staff on the hospice care team. Although ultimately the decision of the patient, the election of hospice care can benefit both the patient and caregivers.
