More than 67% of the 203 hospice care professionals surveyed indicated that staffing would be their greatest non-COVID related challenge this year, according to the 2022 Hospice News Outlook Survey and Report. This is a rise from 33% the prior year.

When did you begin offering hospice services, and what is your scope of care thus far? We started in March 2022 and are very much still in the startup phase. Right now, we’re a community-based provider, and we also work with a hospital system to provide general inpatient hospice care. . We can close that gap.

December 20, 2022 . As NHPCO advised its members in a Member Alert this morning, the legislation contains measures that will affect hospices positively and negatively. There is no requirement for hospices to use MFTs or MHCs and a social worker is still required if needed under a patient’s plan of care.
