Mellie was created by three individuals who found themselves in caregiving roles and recognized the need to empower family caregivers to more easily plan, manage and monitor elder care by using service and technology together. Caring for a parent or elderly family member is one of the most important and challenging things a person will ever do.
Mellie acknowledges that each caregiver’s situation is unique and offers family caregivers consultation and care coordination with a member of Mellie’s Care Team, experienced elder care professionals, who develop a care plan based on the specific needs of the caregiver and older adult. The care plan along with tasks, tips, resources, and practical tools are housed in the Mellie mobile app, built for ease of use from the perspective of a caregiver.
Caregivers can invite others to join the app and share tasks and information with them. The calendar function allows for tracking of due dates, events, and appointments, as well as a tool to note changes in condition. Mellie’s care team remains available to assist and support caregivers as needs change or new questions arise. Navigating through caregiving can be overwhelming, but no one needs to do it alone.
