August Heroes of The Month

We’re honoring two amazing caregivers as August’s Heroes of the Month. These women have exemplified what it means to serve your clients at the highest level. They show professionalism and compassion day in and day out!

Freedom Home Care Hero: Keisha Robinson

Please join us in congratulating our Hero of the Month, Keisha Robinson! Keisha has been a caregiver for more than 25 years and has been part of the Freedom Home Care team for the past 11. Keisha has always enjoyed helping others, saying that she followed in the footsteps of her loving grandmother, who raised her and was a caregiver herself. From a very young age, Keisha looked up to her grandmother and noticed how kind and compassionate she was. When Keisha would accompany her to work, she witnessed the tremendous impact her grandmother had on others, and it made a strong impression. It was seeing her grandmother at work and hearing her stories that helped Keisha make up her mind to be a caregiver, too! Being a full-time caregiver has given Keisha tremendous joy. She loves helping the disabled and elderly feel more independent and less of a burden on their family. She couldn’t imagine doing anything else! On a personal note, Keisha is engaged to be married and has 3 beautiful children. A daughter named Keli and two sons named Tony & Jeffrey in her spare time, she loves to cook, host dinner parties, play card games and travel – especially with her cousins! Keisha is so grateful for the recognition as Hero of the Month. She loves her job and looks forward to many more years with Freedom Home Care! And, we look forward to having her with us for a very long time!

“For some time, we wanted our parents to move to an assisted living home where they could receive care at any time — around-the-clock care that we strongly felt they needed. We were never successful in getting them to move and so the importance of having caregivers that were dependable, trustworthy, and loving could not have been a higher priority.

Keisha has been all of those things. When my Dad passed away at the start of 2021, my Mom remained at home with some serious declining memory loss and without her husband of more than 70 years. Keisha has been a tireless and compassionate advocate for her well being and an important and special companion to her.

We are so grateful to have Keisha in our lives and in our mother’s life. She more than deserves any positive recognition she receives.”

“Keisha has been with our family for almost three years. She is the kind of person who makes you feel like she has always been there. She is warm, loving, patient and helpful. Keisha takes initiative and is flexible. We feel our mom is safe and in good hands when she is around. We enjoy her humor and her tv recommendations, too!!!”

Freedom Home Care Hero: Kamaria Singleton Reed

Freedom Home Care Hero of the Month

Freedom Home Care is proud to recognize Kamaria Singleton Reed, LPN as our Nurse of the Month! At a young age, Kamaria became interested in healthcare due to several personal experiences. Her grandfather had suffered from an aneurysm and had to go through extensive therapy, but with the assistance of his little “helper,” Kamaria, he did quite well with his recovery. A few years later, her grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and moved from Illinois to California to receive the best treatment of care. Kamaria went with her. This is where Kamaria’s formal journey in healthcare began, upon receiving her phlebotomy certificate. After moving back to Illinois, she worked at a dialysis center, at various labs, landing at Life Source. She participated in an outreach program with Quest Diagnostics and eventually went into management there. She supervised the territory for their Patient Access Points (PAC’s) and In Office Phlebotomists (IOP’s) from Pleasant Prairie, WI to Rockford, IL for nearly 7 years. She left that position and began working for the Lake County Health Department as a phlebotomist, which eventually led to management – a position she has held for 17 years. In her current role, she helps the underserved population in Lake County, as well as undocumented immigrants. She firmly believes that every person, no matter who they are, deserves access to quality and affordable healthcare.

Freedom Home Care is so lucky to have such a well versed nurse like Kamaira. Her knowledge, compassion and kindness is noticed form the moment she walks in the room. We should all have a nurse care for us like Kamaria take care of us.
