Interim Healthcare Opens 15 New Locations in 2022

With 15 de novos under its belt thus far in 2022, Caring Brands International (CBI) subsidiary Interim HealthCare Inc. has plans to open two more in undisclosed locations before the year wraps.

Florida-based Interim Health has a current footprint that spans across 42 states nationwide. The company provides care to roughly 173,000 patients annually. Its services include home health, senior and pediatric care, palliative and hospice, with a goal to provide a full continuum of care to patients and their families.

The two new locations will add weight to the company’s ability to meet rising demand for aging health care in the home, the company indicated in an announcement.

“The reality is for more than 50 years, the home care industry has stood at the ready, but only in the last three years has it become abundantly clear that home-based health care clinicians are integral to how this country can meet the increase in health care demand,” said Interim CEO and President Jennifer Sheets in the announcement. “We’re seeing more and more individuals opt for the superior care that can be provided in one’s own home. We are excited to continue growing our footprint to provide access to these crucial services.”

Interim has been on a growth trajectory in the hospice space. Thus far, 2022 has been a “big year” for Interim Healthcare’s pipeline, Sheets previously told Hospice News. Going forward, company’s growth focus will continue to hone on providing more care in the home setting, said Sheets.

The company has completed three acquisitions thus far in 2022. Most recently, it bought back Interim HealthCare of Sacramento Hospice in California for an undisclosed sum.

The latest acquisition reflects the company’s movement toward a hybrid model of both franchises and company-owned branches and its overarching goal to expand geographic scale.

Franchise owners in the Interim network vary from large private equity investors to mom-and-pop startups, some of which have been in the owners’ families for two or three generations. The combined network provides home-based care services to roughly 200,000 patients annually across more than 330 locations in the United States and internationally.

The company has also made additions to its executive team to help guide its growth momentum forward.

Steve Schildwachter was recently appointed senior vice president of brand at Interim. He formerly served as COO of Franchise Performance Group. Shildwachter will help lead Interim’s marketing and brand strategies, while “supporting its franchise network through innovative programs that drive expansion and growth,” according to the company.

“I look forward to playing my part in strengthening the business and brand,” Shildwachter said. “I’m excited for this new journey with Interim HealthCare and the opportunity to expand the public’s knowledge around the wide range of essential home health care services offered and the different degrees of care from hospital-level to personal aide.”

To spearhead its staffing initiatives in the face of growing demand, Interim hired Scott Williams as vice president of talent. Prior to joining Interim, he served as director of talent acquisition for Sonas Home Health Care, where he led the company’s recruitment, onboarding and marketing strategies.

“My new role will play an important part in navigating this industry issue and ensuring our patients receive the best care possible,” Williams said. “Staffing challenges are affecting the entire home health care industry, and meeting demand for home care is directly dependent on the ability to hire qualified professionals so that we can continue providing services to the increasing number of individuals who need it.”
