The quest for cost reductions, often through risk-based models, is leading a rising number of insurance companies and other payers to make (sometimes) huge investments in the space. Among them is UnitedHealth Care (NYSE: UNH). These investments underscore the rising profile of the home setting within the health care system, according to UnitedHealth Care CEO Andrew Witty.

Jonathan Fleece is the newly appointed CEO of the Florida-based nonprofit Empath Health following the retirement of his predecessor Rafael Scuillo earlier this week. Empath provides hospice, home health care, primary care, palliative care, PACE, AIDS and sexual wellness care, and adult day services to a combined total of more than 23,000 individuals.

The Gallup polls are in and f or more than two decades, Nurses have achieved the highest ethics rating from Americans. According to the findings, the 79% of U.S. adults who now say Nurses have “very high” or “high” honesty and ethical standards is far more than any of the other 17 professions rated. Nurses have topped the list every year except one since they were added to the annual ratings in 1999.
