Contessa, a subsidiary of Amedisys, Inc., (NASDAQ: AMED) and Mount Sinai Health system have expanded their joint venture to form a new entity offering a larger continuum of care, branded as Mt. Sinai at Home. Tennessee-based Contessa first partnered with Mt. Sinai in 2017 to provide hospital-at-home services. In 2021, their joint venture expanded to offer community-based palliative care.

Bolstered by recent acquisitions, Addus Homecare’s (NASDAQ: ADUS) hospice segment is holding its own against labor headwinds and inflation. For example, the company’s $85 million acquisition of Illinois-based hospice provider JourneyCare Inc., earlier this year added $25 million to its second quarter revenues. Addus also counted its first full quarter of revenue from its 2021 purchase of Armada Hospice of New Mexico and Armada Hospice of Santa Fe for $29 million.

Enhabit completed its split from Encompass Health (NYSE: EHC) last month, becoming its own separate, publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.
