Hosparus Health has cut the ribbon on a $1.7 million Community Center in Campbellsville, Kentucky, expanding its clinical service area and the range of services available to that community.
Hosparus Health funded the project in part through its $500,000 People of Compassion comprehensive fundraising campaign.
This extends the nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider’s Green River location, which cares for patients in five Kentucky counties.
“We have been a proud part of this community since 1989 and are humbled to be the partner of choice for those facing serious illness,” Community Director Jennifer Thompson said in a statement. “No one should experience an advanced illness alone. Our new facility allows us to meet the region’s increasing demand for supportive services in Green River, reaching more people than ever before. We remain committed to ensuring everyone has access to care when they need it the most.”
Hosparus’ Green River office cared for 486 hospice patients in 2021 throughout its 1,600-square-mile, five-county region.
The organization expects a continued rise in demand as the local population ages.
The new center will provide medical care, care coordination, emotional and spiritual support, and access to education about end-of-life and serious illness care, as well as advance care planning.
The facility includes an outpatient palliative clinic operated by Hosparus’ Pallitus Health Partners brand. The Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center is also located in the facility, offering mental health and bereavement care.
This is the second new facility for Hosparus in recent months. The organization also opened a 1,245-square-foot grief care center near Louisville, Kentucky.
