Once again, I have an exciting and diverse group of great reads! Check out these three recommendations and let me know what you think!

For so long, for so many people, Lyme disease has been a frightening, painful illness, mysterious and debilitating. Recovery from Lyme Disease: The Integrative Medicine Guide to Diagnosing and Treating Tick-Borne Illness by Daniel A. Kinderlehrer MD, is a thorough, and meticulous work, tackled by someone who knows firsthand about the suffering that Lyme disease can cause. His experience as a patient has most certainly influenced his passionate and painstaking research and comprehensive formulas for healing and recovery. His approach to treating tick-borne illness is based on years of science and a complete understanding of holistic protocols. This is a must-read for anyone stricken with Lyme’s or showing puzzling symptoms that are misdiagnosed.

The Girl in the Red Boots: Making Peace with My Mother by Judith Ruskay Rabinor, Ph.D. is a guided tour down the road of mother-daughter relationships seen through the eyes of a therapist who shares the same desire for healing as those who seek healing from her. As Rabinor works with patients struggling with trauma and suffering, she discovers and heals her own, proving that storytelling is a powerful catalyst for change and growth. This is a journey of stories and finding peace.

Who Do You Want to Be When You Grow Old? The Path of Purposeful Aging, written by Richard J. Leider and David A. Shapiro, is a spectacular take on aging with grace and self-awareness. If we age with purpose and inspiration, we are more equipped to deal with the regret and fear of change as mortality hits home. The authors provide us with valuable insight into purposeful living with anecdotes, personal stories, and practical principles. As I read this book, I felt that I was spending quality time with old and trusted friends who were giving me great advice and encouragement. No one wants to grow old, but since it’s inevitable, why not do it with style and purpose?
