Science Slam is back!

Learning meets laughter, facts meet fun and education meets entertainment.

Science Slam is a competition that combines scientific presentations with the entertainment value of stand-up comedy. In a Science Slam, scientists and researchers present their work in a fun, engaging, and understandable way in front of a live audience.

In the EAPC Science Slam, presenters have 3 minutes, to convey their message and make an impact on the audience. Props are allowed, only if they can be worn on the body or carried on stage with your own hands. NO POWERPOINTS ALLOWED! The goal is to make your science accessible, interesting, and entertaining for everyone.

The live audience are the jury. They want to be dazzled and impressed by your sparkling, funny and surprising way of teaching them about your work. They will vote for the winning Slam, and the winner receives a really nice prize!

This year the EAPC Science Slam will take place, during our congress on Thursday, 15th June 2023, 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm (CEST).

Berend Feddersen, the winner in 2019 and 2021 will be our host and the competition is open to anyone who is attending the congress.

Rules:

  1. You must be registered to attend the congress to enter
  2. Your presentation is for 3 minutes maximum
  3. Props allowed only if you can wear them, or carry them yourself
