1st nestling snuggling with unhatched eggs. I watched from inside through Vic’s astronomy telescope. About three decades ago, he and I set up two boxes on opposite ends of an old fence, and your ancestor moved in that spring. Male bluebird guarding second nest. This year, your first nesting was troubled.

The nestlings were never left unguarded. Looking down, I saw three lined up on the wooden railing below my bedroom window, two parents and a smaller nestling. For weeks, I watched the parents come and go. Papa arrived when the sun rose over the hill for day duty. Mama left for the day and returned at sunset for night shift.

Yesterday evening, after another wild thunderstorm, I look in the nesting box closest to my house and find 5 tiny white eggs nestled in feathers. The Tree Swallow Mama feathers her nest while she lays one egg each day. She’s the best interior decorator I’ve hosted, adding new colors—black, striped, and fluffy white—and rearranging feathers.

It’s a little town nestled on the wrong side of the NT/WA border. From there I re-learnt ED skills and then applied to the Northern Territory Transition to Remote Program and was shifted to Wurrumiyanga. That’s where I am now. Any places really stood out? Visually was Kununurra- it’s stunning.
