AlayaCare Embraces Digital Health Week 2019

Toolkit-4_EN

It’s Digital Health Week (November 11-17), an annual celebration and recognition of how data is transforming the delivery of care across Canada. It’s also close to our hearts here at AlayaCare, as not only are we invested heavily in digital health, but this awareness week began in 2014 – the same year we did.

Digital Health Week is now part of the  ACCESS 2022 movement, which unites Canadians, health care providers, government and industry in pursuit of a new, transformational health-care system.

Across the country right now, seven in 10 Canadians access personal health information online, a utility that helps them proactively manage their health. We also know that 85 per cent of primary care practitioners use electronic medical records (EMRs), to which the vast majority credit with providing more efficient and higher-quality care to their patients.

Digital health = better outcomes

At AlayaCare, we’ve seen first-hand the impact that digital health can have on better outcomes. Our clients have told us that having advanced software solutions have enabled new levels of efficiency when it comes to home care.

  • In our remote patient monitoring study in Ontario, our software led to 73% fewer trips to emergency and 64% fewer hospitalizations among patients with heart failure or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (Full profile)
  • After launching the AlayaCare mobile app for caregivers, this Oakville, Ontario agency watched a drop of 50% in missed client visits among a slew of other positive benefits on the back end. (Full profile)
  • In just a few months, one agency in New Zealand broadened its ability to serve clients by 4,000 additional hours every week – thanks to digital health strategies. (Full profile)
  • An Ottawa-area agency improved its care delivery through easy electronic visit verification – translating to better personalized care for each person. It also allowed them to help the Local Health Integration Network reduce wait times in the region. (Full profile)
  • Newfound analytics enabled one agency based in Orillia, Ontario to better pair caregivers with clients (of whom they have 2,200) and uncover new insights into fall prevention and how to best use its new transitional bed program. (Full profile)
  • In Quebec, one major home care organization has been able to grow 11 new franchises since 2016 with minimal operational growth thanks to our technology. (Full profile)

And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
